The Print: August 2025
Hi Friends, Sarah here!
I am finally sitting down to write this as today was my kids' first day back at school. They are going to a big school this year, so feeling crazy emo about my babies growing up! No tears from them on the school steps, but me, that is another story. August was filled with hilarity, chaos, zero routine, family, friends, beauty - I feel completely full and totally done at the same time. That is the everlasting beauty of August, isn't it? We were in the states for a month, mostly Southern Maine, seeing our soul people. We wore a lot of SZ, swam in a lot of freezing water, scraped knees, lost teeth, ate sandy sandwiches, laughed until we couldn't stand up...so many drops of pure joy.
I want to address the recently enforced tariffs on goods imported to the USA from India. As you may have heard, import taxes are hitting almost 50%, putting small businesses like SZ Blockprints, in a extremely precarious position. As a result, we will be slowing our e-commerce this Fall as we consider what we can do and how we can pivot the brand whilst this is happening. We will still be launching some insanely exciting drops (hint, hint - bedding!!!) but we will not be bringing in our usual AW collection for the time being. Don't worry, we will be sharing our retailers + rental platforms where you can still get the goods and we will be back in early 2026, stronger than ever. The best part of August? The joy of layering is back. I got a head start in Maine with our classic Suit Vest and Field Jacket. Now it's your turn to explore the light layers that refresh your everyday uniform.

1. My Summer song is You're Welcome, from the Moana Soundtrack (Lols)
2. My Summer movie (which turned out to be a TV show + the only thing I watched) was Too Much, I love you Lena!
3. My Summer book Proof of Heaven- picked it up at my local library book sale. Earth shattering. You will never think about consciousness and what happens next in the same way.
4. My Summer mood is so grateful + actually quite relaxed ( a huge surprise!)
5. My Summer wish is for everyone to get to see next generation and or multigenerational friendships forming. Seeing my 5 year old firmly become best friends with both a 63 year old and my best friends' 6 year old son, has been comedy and tenderness in action.
